News from HOME.

We love to shop,we do it well, but best of all, we love to share.

Projects we have worked on.

Oh my! SS's shoot of Jasper and Michelle Foggo's house in this months INSIDE OUT has caused a blogging storm. The Foggo's are one of HOME's favorite upholsterers and tastemakers and it seems the whole world loves the Foggo's definitive elegant magpie style and SS's sensitive and beautiful styling. Mr Wee's pictures bring out the subtleties in the cottage that is a testament to following your heart when you buy.Owner Michelle Foggo, says its best "I just buy what I love and that is how and why it works" . Crystal Palace is at 2/252 Bong Bong St Bowral PH 02 4861 1836

Where we have been...

The Milan Furniture Fair has many highlights but this year, the one I am most looking forward to is the Swarovski Crystal Palace conceived by Arik Levy.

I expect that while there will be a reduction in attendance generally at the fair, it will be made up for with an incredible level of creativity and ideas.

Last years highlight for me was not a stand or new product, but fashion designer Martin Margelia's Milan store. Re-splendid in white with a animal skin used as the stores stair tread and walls made out of thick novels all papered and painted white.

Tom Dixons Super Studio is also set to shine as beautifully as his delicious copper light that are available now at dedece. Look out for his Beat ones, flared and wide, they are the sibling shade to his perfectly round offerings seen here. MM

Paint Colours

While we don't encourage feature walls, we do love the conviction of dousing all four walls in colour, and what better colour to do it in than green?

New Zealand typographer Catherine Griffith's collection of John Galliano shopping bags intermixed with billums from png make for fine eye candy in her master bedroom.
Want a similar green? We love Bauwerk's, 'Pickle'- 39/18. Just a word from the wise  - this shade of green can only really work in a medium to large size room, install it in a small room and you will believe you are inhaling peas.

Where We Have Been...

Good dining tables always host good wine. While there has apparantley been a gfc rush to drink-now varieties, HOME loves the classic offering of moscato.

Pear, peach and ginger is what you will taste  in  the hints of Mudgee winery, Logan Wines -plus the label is embroidered by  a real local nana.

We buy by the case and give our as hostess gift or better still enjoy as Sunday afternoon treat.

Somethings You Might Like...

Dedicated to sourcing, we are seeing glorious objects of late. Some of our favorites are

While HOME is dedicated to all matters of the home and nothing else, we cant help but share Victoria Beckham's latest video showing her new season dress collection - Victoria Beckham Collection. Clothes aside, the hide and seek game played out through the English mansion is just adorable, the styling is insane, the soundtrack inspired, persian rugs and portraiture covetable and the shot of the girl hanging of the back of the door is dead cute.  We are digging around to find out whose house it is and if we can have a look next time we are in London.

We love Wombat Hollow's respectful take on the found and the forgotten.

Michael Yabsleys deep appreciation of sheds and their contents go a long way to explain his beautifully realized lighting made from drills, shoe lasts and surveyor's tripods ( to name just a few) .

Need to inject some character and personality? A feature light might be all that is needed.view more here.

We've  long loved Lyn Gardner from Empire Vintage's conviction of style and what a better way to experience it than in a guest house designed by her. In the very green and cozy hills of Dalyseford, Melbourne,  is her 3 bedroom guest house where weddings will take place, proposals be made, roast chicken perfected along with other special times. Her website shows it all off, including her idylic library doused half in Deborah Browness's book wallpaper and half with penguin classics that you will want to read, not just look at. view more here.
